Rapant-McElroy & Associates L.L.C.
Susan Rapant has more than twenty-five years’ experience as a certified, professional vocational rehabilitation counselor. Her career began in 1991 in New York, where she facilitated treatment groups, provided counseling, and developed a treatment program to assist people coping with substance abuse problems and to help them live more independent lives by securing gainful employment. She quickly moved into a leadership role, directing all program operations for management of a comprehensive vocational and educational rehabilitation department serving over 400 clients, as well as developing curricula to implement personal, social, and vocational adjustment training for these clients. She continued her career in Texas in 1995, working as the manager of vocational rehabilitation services for a major workers’ compensation carrier, where she developed and administered return to work programs for employees receiving workers’ compensation benefits. In 2000, following her passion to fulfill the purpose of returning individuals to competitive employment by offering comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services, she established Rapant-McElroy & Associates. She takes an active leadership role in her professional organizations and has recently led the Texas chapter to coordinating a national conference in Texas. As president, she directed the project of creating a division in Texas for Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns.
Susan holds a Master of Arts degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling from New York University, and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Disability Management Specialist, and Certified Case Manager. She is certified as a diplomate for the American Board of Vocational Experts.
